EligibilityTo be eligible you must: (1) be an employee in the Parole Board with permanent civil service status as Institutional Parole Officer C by the date of the examination; (2) have been employed in the eligible title for twelve months preceding the examination date.
Duties (Essential)- Manage internal and external communications and coordination with Department and stakeholders.
- Oversee and manage subordinate training.
- General administration, record and report management.
- Supervision, evaluation, and counseling of personnel.
- Oversee subordinates regarding pre‑ and post‑hearing preparation process.
- Monitor issuance of violations and warrants.
- Technical Knowledge & Practical
: oversight of case preparation, case maintenance, violation and warrants process, date computation, interviewing techniques, management practices, performance evaluation, discipline, organizational change, strategic vision, training, and knowledge of relevant policies and procedures (e.g., PAR, SOPs and CMRs). - Situational Judgement Test (SJT):
Accountability, Leadership, Interpersonal Interactions, Guiding and Developing Others, and Adaptability. - Experience & Education (E&E):
Complete the 2026 Institutional Parole Officer D Promotional Examination E&E Claim application online; submit supporting documentation by June 13, 2026.
Veterans and disabled veterans will receive two points added to their overall examination score. Claim veteran status in the application and attach DD214.
