Job Opening:
The Department of Conservation and Recreation, seeks applicants for a Policy and Public Affairs (Contracted Student Interns Unpaid), 2026 Fall Semester to perform the duties listed below. Please submit a cover letter and resume as part of the application process. This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Interns may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university.

General Statement of Duties and

Job Responsibilities:

The Policy Intern will support the Deputy Commissioner of Policy and Public Affairs, the Director of Partnerships, and the Regional Legislative/Partnership Coordinators. They will assist with a number of tasks related to DCR's Partnership program and the implementation of the agency's new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Through these activities, the Policy Intern will learn more about how public agencies outreach and interact with stakeholders and partner organizations to achieve mutual goals.

Detailed Statement of

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with updating partner group contact information, demographic information, and organizational priorities. Assist with implementation of the CRM system, including reviewing and entering data from the previous system. Interact with Regional Coordinators to support project meetings with legislators, municipal officials, and stakeholders. Research proposed policy reviews and provide recommendations to the Policy Formulation Committee.

Preferred

Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to do research and prepare recommendations.
