Position Summary
This job involves performing routine ultrasound examinations, reviewing and evaluating procedure requisitions, and managing equipment by identifying and reporting malfunctions. Additionally, the role requires assessing patient needs, educating medical trainees, participating in meetings, completing documentation, and maintaining professional development to adhere to hospital policies and standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerforming Ultrasound Examinations:
- Conduct routine ultrasound exams as prescribed.
- Review requisitions, evaluate the appropriateness of procedures, and select the appropriate equipment.
Patient and Family Relations:
- Assess the physical and emotional status of patients and develop tailored plans to meet their needs.
- Create a supportive environment for patients and their families.
Equipment Management:
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
Training and
Education:
- Provide instruction on pediatric ultrasound procedures to residents, fellows, and students.
Professional Practices:
- Participate in departmental meetings, accurately complete documentation, and comply with hospital policies and core values.
- Engage in professional development to maintain current knowledge of regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Education
- Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- License/Certification
- Eligible for certification by the ARDMS.
- Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration within one year of hire date.
- BLS certification
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
