Medical Assistant - Primary Care at IHA

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team, assisting in the examination and treatment of patients, tracking patient information, documenting medical records, and providing patient education under the oversight of professional clinical staff and providers.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, determining and documenting reason for visit, performing initial response screening, obtaining patient vital signs, and entering medication and laboratory orders into the electronic medical record.

• Greets and escorts patients to examination rooms
• Determines and documents reason for visit
• Performs initial response screening and obtains patient vital signs
• Enters medication and laboratory orders into the electronic medical record
• Administers prescribed medications and facilitates prescription renewals
• Provides patient education and participates in disease management programs

High School Diploma or GED, completion of accredited MA program, and certification as a Medical Assistant through a recognized certifying agency.

Valid CPR certification and ability to perform mathematical calculations and handle patient information confidentially.

This job operates in a medical facility, requiring regular walking and interaction with patients, and exposure to hazardous materials and sharps.
