Job Title

Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship in School Based Mental Health and Special Education

Organization

The Baker Center for Children and Families (Judge Baker Children’s Center)

Location

On‑site, Manville School

Overview

The Baker Center for Children and Families promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy. The clinical postdoctoral fellow will carry a caseload of up to eight students enrolled in the Manville School. The fellow will serve as their student’s clinician and case manager, including delivery of therapeutic services (individual, small group, or push‑in), consultation with classroom teams, family therapy/parent training (as applicable), and collaboration with internal and external support services and providers.

The fellow will also work with classroom teams to deliver a social‑emotional learning curriculum based on evidence‑based practices. As a case manager, the fellow will lead interdisciplinary team meetings, service‑planning meetings, or caregiver–teacher conferences for each student. In addition, the fellow will assess and evaluate students requiring 3‑year re‑evaluations to determine continued eligibility for special education services, including comprehensive psychological evaluation and diagnostic impressions.

Opportunities will also be available to complete evaluations with Manville’s new Assessment, Consultation and Evaluation (ACE) classroom, designed for students needing 40 or 45‑day assessments. During the fellowship year the fellow will receive training and supervision in evidence‑based interventions for children and adolescents, including potential certification in the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children (MATCH), and supervision to meet Massachusetts psychology licensure requirements.

Appointment as a fellow at Harvard Medical School is available to the qualified successful applicant.
