Pay RateBase hourly rate: $20.50 (additional $1.00/hour differential for active MAP certification); $17.50/hour for asleep hours covered.

The Support Advocate is a direct support professional (DSP) who provides day‑to‑day care for individuals with intellectual disability, developmental disability, or acquired brain injury (ABI or TBI). The role blends personal care, household support, medication assistance, and behavior support to help participants achieve as much independence as possible.
Key Responsibilities- Assist and/or teach personal care skills such as bathing, toileting, and teeth brushing.
- Support household maintenance, meal preparation, and grocery shopping to promote self‑management.
- Accompany participants to appointments and community events.
- Administer medications or facilitate self‑medication following residential guidelines.
- Follow individualized care routines including behavior support plans, personal care schedules, and physical therapy tasks.
- Participate in a paid 5‑day New Employee Orientation covering CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP).
- Receive ongoing program‑specific training at the work site.
- Age 18+.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Commitment to assisting individuals with disabilities to engage fully in community life.
- Personal interests or connections in the local community.
- Record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer, or school).
- Ability to contribute creatively and positively to a team.
