In addition to all duties in Program Coordinator I, the Program Coordinator II will perform the following duties:

Responsibilities
  • Function as a Health Educator, providing health education to adolescents in school and community settings, including topics such as healthy sexuality, STI and unplanned pregnancy prevention, substance/alcohol/tobacco prevention, and emotional well-being.
  • Develop, organize, and facilitate psycho-educational groups, trainings, and classroom presentations for students, school administrators, teachers, and parents.
  • Provide one-on-one sessions with teens.
  • Administer STI tests on school campuses, deliver results, and connect teens to treatment services.
  • Collaborate closely with other HRC staff and link adolescents and their families to community services.
  • Participate in training peer health educators and others as needed, including summer trainings.
  • Attend all required trainings as specified by the program director.
  • Assist in developing health education materials for adolescents.
  • Follow all protocols and policies of HRC.
  • Document and collect information regarding services provided according to program policies.
  • Represent BPHC and HRC at meetings, health fairs, and conferences as needed.
  • Collaborate with other BPHC programs to provide integrated services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required or 3 years of equivalent experience in public health program coordination, management, or community organizing.
    • Experience working with urban, at-risk youth and their families.
    • Competency and sensitivity in working with racially and culturally diverse populations.
    • Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues.
    • Experience coordinating and implementing complex projects.
    • Ability to write clear, concise reports, follow instructions, and explain policies.
    • Ability to establish rapport and maintain harmonious working relationships.
    • Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office, MS Word/Excel, and SAS for data analysis and interpretation.
    • Knowledge of local community agencies and healthcare providers.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker preferred.
