In addition to all duties in Program Coordinator I, the Program Coordinator II will perform the following duties:

Responsibilities

Function as a Health Educator, providing health education to adolescents in school and community settings, including topics such as healthy sexuality, STI and unplanned pregnancy prevention, substance/alcohol/tobacco prevention, and emotional well-being.

Develop, organize, and facilitate psycho-educational groups, trainings, and classroom presentations for students, school administrators, teachers, and parents.

Provide one-on-one sessions with teens.

Administer STI tests on school campuses, deliver results, and connect teens to treatment services.

Collaborate closely with other HRC staff and link adolescents and their families to community services.

Participate in training peer health educators and others as needed, including summer trainings.

Attend all required trainings as specified by the program director.

Assist in developing health education materials for adolescents.

Follow all protocols and policies of HRC.

Document and collect information regarding services provided according to program policies.

Represent BPHC and HRC at meetings, health fairs, and conferences as needed.

Collaborate with other BPHC programs to provide integrated services.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required or 3 years of equivalent experience in public health program coordination, management, or community organizing.
Experience working with urban, at-risk youth and their families.
Competency and sensitivity in working with racially and culturally diverse populations.
Knowledge of adolescent developmental issues.
Experience coordinating and implementing complex projects.
Ability to write clear, concise reports, follow instructions, and explain policies.
Ability to establish rapport and maintain harmonious working relationships.
Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office, MS Word/Excel, and SAS for data analysis and interpretation.
Knowledge of local community agencies and healthcare providers.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Bi-lingual Spanish speaker preferred.
