, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team. This full-time position involves supporting our speech and language pathology team in providing speech therapy services to students with communication disorders. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will assist in the implementation of therapy plans, progress monitoring, and data collection to help students develop essential communication skills.
As an SLPA, you will work directly with students of various age groups to support them in areas such as speech articulation, language development, social communication, and fluency. Responsibilities- Therapy Support
:
Assist the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in delivering speech therapy services as outlined in students’ individualized education plans (IEPs). - Direct Therapy
:
Provide one-on-one or small group therapy sessions focused on speech articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and social communication, under the supervision of the SLP. - Assessment Assistance
:
Assist with student assessments, screenings, and progress evaluations, including data collection and observations. - Documentation
:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and any additional required reports. - Collaboration
:
Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment and daily activities. - Materials Preparation
:
Assist in the preparation, organization, and maintenance of therapy materials, tools, and technology for speech-language therapy sessions. - Progress Monitoring
:
Help track students progress and assist in modifying therapy plans as needed to meet their goals.
- Education
:
Associate s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field. - Certification
:
Current Massachusetts licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification. - Experience
:
Previous experience as an SLPA in a school or clinical setting is preferred. - Skills
:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff. - Knowledge
:
Familiarity with speech and language development, communication disorders, and IEP processes. - CPR and First Aid
