Position: Resident Assistant (CNA/HHA)

Providence House Assisted Living is looking for CNAs/HHAs to join our wellness team!

We are a 102 unit building in Brighton, MA. We have all shifts available with the option of flexible schedules!

We are hiring full time, part time & per diem! We offer competitive pay and benefits.

You will provide outstanding patient care and physical support for residents on a daily basis. To do well in this role you should have your state-certified nursing assistant certification from a recognized CNA program, or Home Health Aide certificate. The CNA/HHA performs multiple care duties that contribute to the health, well‑being, and quality of life for the residents of the community.

Functions

of this position:
  • Provides great patient care
  • Answers resident calls and determining how best to help them.
  • Carries out activities of daily living with assigned residents, i.e. washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, ambulation, transfers from bed to chair, etc.
  • Assists with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of residents' apartments specified in the resident’s service plan.
  • Observes and reports changes in residents' condition, behavior, or mental status to Resident Care Director.
  • Accurately and completely documents resident care and observation as directed.
  • Assists with, but does not administer, medication to residents.
  • Assures confidentiality of all resident information.
  • Adheres to all safety policies including reporting/removing hazards immediately. Reports all unusual occurrences promptly.
  • Encourages and supports the concepts of the Habilitation model of care for residents.
  • Responds to medical and all other emergencies promptly.
  • Attends all required in-service education programs. Responsible for all information in the employee handbook.
  • Recommends equipment and supply needs to the Resident Care Director.
  • Works assigned hours per week, that may include night, weekend and holiday time.
  • Other tasks that may become necessary/appropriate as requested by the Resident Care Director

We are actively taking measures to protect our Residents and Employees during the COVID-19 situation including: distribution of PPE, temperature screenings upon arrival to work, and periodic COVID testing required onsite provided by our dedicated infection control team!

Job Requirements:
  • Valid CNA license or HHA certificate required
  • Prior experience in an assisted living community is preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency at reading and understanding a Resident Care Service Plan or assignment (e.g., ADLs and introductory visits)
  • Understands the nursing function in assisted living
  • Understands quality of care objectives
  • Understands quality of life objectives
  • Previous experience working with people with dementia is desired
