Position: Patient Services Coord. II - New Patient Access

Summary

Performs administrative functions to support smooth and efficient care of patients in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Performs a variety of tasks supporting the scheduling of new patients. May assist with general administrative practice support, as needed.

Primary Duties
  • Answer the main phone line, assisting callers with routine questions and routing other calls accordingly.
  • Review new patient requests and schedule with the appropriate provider.
  • Assist with records collection and preparation prior to new patient consults.
  • Process patient billing forms and scan documents to the patient medical record.
  • May perform more complex or specialized functions (i.e., surgical scheduling, schedule changes/blocking) at a more advanced competency level.
Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Experience

Office experience 2-3 years required.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with all Office Suite, knowledge of office operations and standards, and understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing and faxing.
  • Ability to use a phone system and manage non‑routine phone calls and solve routine issues as appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience and talk to others to convey information effectively.
  • Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work‑related documents, correspond and communicate with others clearly and effectively (including composing/editing e‑mail, memos and letters), and take complete and accurate messages.
  • Manage one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Be well organized and have good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within systems.
