• As an OT, you will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain and develop skills needed for daily life. You will work with disabled, ill or injured patient populations in the acute care setting.
• Review patients  medical history, ask questions, and observe them performing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient s condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and activities to help achieve those goals.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional tasks.
• Evaluate a patient s home or workplace and identify potential improvements based on health needs.
• Educate patients  families and employers about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use it.
• Assess and record patient activities and progress for evaluations, billing, and reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.
• Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Other certifications listed: NBCOT (OTR), 2 years; Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
