Position: LAB MANAGERSDM Periodontology

he lab manager will maintain supplies and facilitate all aspects of as needed. needed. the daily operations of the laboratory. This includes coordination of all routine maintenance schedules, ordering lab supplies, and helping to ensure that all safety and regulatory requirements are met. The lab manager will help to train students, both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral, and new laboratory personnel in basic laboratory techniques and correct instrument usage.

In the future, the lab manager will carry out experiments as directed by the Principal Investigator. These experiments may be done in collaboration with other laboratory personnel, or may be independent research projects, depending on what is required at the time. Maintain common laboratory supply stocks and place orders as Maintain laboratory equipment, and coordinate compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Train pre-doctoral, post-doctoral, and residents in basic laboratory techniques and correct instrument usage. Carry out experiments as directed by the Principal Investigator. Maintain excellent records of experiments performed, and logs of materials and specialized reagents stored in freezers and elsewhere in the laboratory. Maintain data records and assist with compiling and reporting results.

Duties
  • Increase efficiency with the current funding in the lab
  • Manage billing and payment procedures
  • Order, track and organize lab supplies
  • Oversee laboratory safety
  • Manage inventories
  • Provide support for scheduled meetings or seminars
  • External collaboration with vendors
  • Basic laboratory maintenance including machine maintenance
  • Report in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required and 1‑3 years of experience
  • Relevant experience in administrative skills or accounting a plus
  • Familiarity with cellular and molecular laboratory techniques
  • Advanced written communication skill required
  • Proficiency in Excel and business management software a plus
