Medical Affairs Strategy Medical Director – Medical leadership for the Povetacicept programs.

General Summary

Povetacicept (pove) is an enhanced, dual BAFF/APRIL inhibitor in pivotal development for the treatment of IgA Nephropathy (IgAN), with best‑in‑class and pipeline‑in‑a‑product potential across a variety of autoimmune diseases.

This role will develop the medical strategy and medical plan under the direction of the VP/Executive Director and execute the plan for the pove programs. It will collaborate closely with cross‑functional groups to align scientific and medical strategies with corporate and stakeholder needs, ensuring the voice of patients and the medical community is integrated into product strategies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop medical affairs plans, including launch and life‑cycle management plans.
  • Critically interpret scientific data, determine the potential impact of new research on clinical practice, and use data to formulate frameworks and disease‑management approaches.
  • Provide input from the medical community into clinical development and commercial strategies.
  • Effectively communicate scientific data through presentations and publications.
  • Ensure country/regional insights are considered in global medical strategies and activities.
  • Provide scientific input and expertise as a medical reviewer and support the development of global medical, commercial, regulatory, and reimbursement documents.
  • Perform/oversee medical/scientific training for Medical, Commercial, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Review investigator‑sponsored study (ISS) proposals and other research grants.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Deep understanding of global medical, regulatory and commercial (including payer) environments.
  • Excellent understanding of government and industry guidelines, regulations, and laws for appropriate scientific/medical exchange and communication with key external stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of market access in key countries.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to influence others internally/externally.
  • Ability to develop relationships in a highly matrixed environment, as well as external relationships with global, regional and local thought leaders and industry experts.
  • Ability to engage in positive dialogue and resolve conflicts constructively.
Education and Experience
  • M.D. degree in Nephrology or equivalent (e.g., D.O.).
  • At least 3 years of experience in the biotech/pharma industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a Medical Affairs function and in the analysis of research (pre‑clinical or clinical) data and publications; working knowledge of biostatistics and scientific/clinical research methods, and clinical study design.
Pay Range

$236,800 - $355,200

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
