The Medical Laboratory Scientist I is a CLIA‑authorized testing personnel responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of waived and non‑waived results under general supervision.

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records.
• Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are tested consistently with patient samples.
• Adhere to quality‑control policies and document all quality‑control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
• Follow corrective‑action policies whenever test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
• Identify problems that could adversely affect test performance or reporting and either correct them or promptly notify the appropriate supervisor or director.
• Document all corrective actions taken for deviations from performance specifications.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences.
• Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification preferred; not required.
• Lab experience: 1–2 years required.
• Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and adherence to written protocols.
• Team‑work and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Professional communication with physicians, hospital personnel, staff, and patients.
