Certified Surgical Technician, Inpatient Surgery (36 hours, Day​/Night) - Sign On Bonus Available

Position

Certified Surgical Technician – Menino Operating Room (Inpatient Surgery) – 36 hours per week (Day/Night shift, every third weekend, call required).

As a member of the surgical team, the surgical technician provides patient care during surgical procedures by ensuring an aseptic and safe environment. Duties include prepping and sterilizing rooms, transporting patients, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other staff during surgery.

• Prep and sterilize operating rooms and surgical instruments.
• Transport patients to and from surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgical personnel.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other staff during surgery.
• Use technical and aseptic techniques to comply with established sterile standards and procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited or approved program in surgical technology (or completed an Armed Forces medic or corpsmen program).
• Certified Surgical Technician (unless employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July1,2013).

• Prior surgical tech experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively.
• Ability to accurately interpret and use medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Computer proficiency to access and enter computerized data/information.
• Interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.
• Organizational skills to set priorities and complete assigned work efficiently.

• Base salary range: $38.94 – $49.38 per hour.
• Sign‑on bonus: $10,000 for candidates with more than 1 year of multi‑specialty experience (paid after 6 months); $5,000 for candidates with less than 1 year or single‑specialty experience (paid after 6 months).
