ED Unit Services Technician

Responsibilities

• Provides a broad range of care and services to patients including EKG and phlebotomy.
• Performs secretarial duties to ensure efficient operation of the Emergency Department.
• Provides safe and accurate transportation of patients throughout the hospital.
• Performs technical duties including cleaning and restocking of medical equipment.
• Follows hospital policies and assures patient safety during transport.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Basic Life Support [BLS] certification required
• Certified Nurse Aide [CNA] or Emergency Medical Technician [EMT] license required
• Experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting preferred
• Knowledge of C.A.R.E. Standards
• Ability to work in a fast paced, often stressful environment
• Good communication skills
• Ability to set and reset priorities.
• Excellent customer service skills

Demonstrates proficiency in patient care services, including EKG and phlebotomy, while ensuring adherence to C.A.R.E. Standards and hospital policies. Capable of providing excellent customer service and effective communication in a fast‑paced emergency environment.

• Basic Life Support Certification
• Certified Nurse Aide License
• Emergency Medical Technician License
