MRI Technologist, Per Diem

Position Summary
1. Examinations Performs routine procedures in MRI on a scheduled and emergency basis.

Reviews and evaluates requisitions for MR imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.

Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.

Selects appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.

Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.

Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Magnetic field environment.

Follows MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations.

Practices High Reliability Training.

2. Patient/Family Relations Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
3. Equipment Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
4. Operations Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
5. General Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.

6. Professional Development Completes all required competencies and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
