The Accessibility and Accommodations Officer is responsible for overseeing the organization's accessibility and accommodations compliance program, ensuring enrollees have adequate access to covered services and network providers in accordance with Mass Health, CMS, and applicable state and federal requirements. The Accessibility and Accommodations Compliance Officer develops and implements monitoring and improvement plans, evaluates data and processes related to accessibility and accommodations, and establishes policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.

The role collaborates with legal counsel, provider relations, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and contracted partners to monitor regulatory changes, strengthen operational compliance, oversee contractor adherence, and support consistent implementation of standards across the provider and service delivery network. The individual is responsible for taking all reasonable and necessary measures to mitigate compliance risks and ensure an effective accessibility and accommodations program.

If you reside in the state of Massachusetts or bordering state, you will have the flexibility to telecommute and work in the field up to 25%-50% of time as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, implements and drives adherence to accessibility and accommodations compliance program as required by 3-way contract with State of Massachusetts and CMS
  • Drives and facilitates compliance with applicable laws, regulations, mandates and the contract
  • Demonstrates knowledge of business and industry processes, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinates with providers and provider relations to ensure network is compliant with ADA standards
  • Develops policies and procedures as needed
  • Documents, communicates, and reports ADA compliance status and issues
  • Coordinates and supports implementation of ADA compliance training and educational programs with the appropriate business areas
  • Develops annual work plan to address providers that are not compliant with ADA standards. Coordinates development and implementation of appropriate corrective action where necessary
  • Works with operational leaders to verify understanding and communication of plan-level regulatory contract requirements
  • Validates standards and processes are in place to ensure our vendor engagements meet regulatory and business requirements
  • Receives, investigates, resolves inquiries and grievances from enrollees
  • Works with Community Based Organizations as a liaison with our contracted Long Term Supports Coordinators
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations related to accessibility and accommodations compliance for enrollees
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of the provider community and ability to assess provider accommodations for enrollees
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • ADA Coordinator Training Certification preferred

Soft Skills :

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple business areas, including, but not limited to, provider relations, clinical, quality and compliance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with enrollees and providers and address needs
  • Ability to identify gaps, remediate those gaps and monitor going forward
