What You’ll Do
Evaluate and manage adult/geriatric thoracic surgery patients in a hospital setting
Perform procedures including chest tube placement, Blake drain, and pigtail management
Assist with ABG, NGT, G, and J feeding tube procedures
See approximately 15-25 patients per shift, primarily on the floor, ICU, or post-op units
Support the care team as a solo provider with backup from a resident or fellow
Respond to codes and perform initial assessments when needed
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care
Manage transfers, perform H&Ps for transferred patients, and participate in post-op care
What You Need
Required:
NCCPA certification and valid licensure (no state license required)
ACLS and BLS certifications
DEA registration
At least 1 year of thoracic surgery experience or equivalent
Preferred:
Experience with thoracic surgical procedures and post-op patient management
