Position SummaryThe Regional Dietitian provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and support for nutrition services across facilities within the Northern California region. This position is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting Food and Nutrition Services staffing and development, monitoring quality and performance outcomes, and serving as a clinical resource for facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams.
The Regional Dietitian partners with operations, clinical leadership, and facility management to ensure consistent implementation of nutrition care standards and company policies while supporting resident-centered care and organizational objectives.
Responsibilities- Provide oversight and virtuous leadership for the food and Nutrition Services across the Massachusetts region
- Serve as a clinical resource for Registered Dietitians, facility leadership, nursing, providers. Be the nutrition expert.
- Monitor implementation of nutrition care process and standards of practice.
- Knowledge on scope of practice for CDM’s, RD’s and other health professionals
- Review quality indicators, audit findings, and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and lead FNS team to improved outcomes. Be a self starter.
- Assist facilities in developing and implementing corrective action plans related to nutrition services and regulatory compliance.
- Support integration of clinical standards of practices within food service operations, meal delivery systems, and resident care processes.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, mentor, and evaluate Registered Dietitians, Certified Dietary Managers and identify FNS staff who could “level up” within the organization
- Assign facility coverage, areas of responsibility, and work schedules to ensure adequate clinical support and regulatory compliance.
- Provide open clear communication, educational programs, and team meetings to support engagement, consistency, and professional growth.
- Participate in budget development and monitoring for regional food service operations.
- Monitor and provide insight on labor utilization, productivity, and operational costs
- Support Cap ex procedures and projects that are related to Food and Nutrition Services
- Ensure efficient allocation of clinical resources based on facility census, acuity, and operational needs
- Ensure compliance with company programs, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of practice for Registered Dietitians.
- Provide direction and support regarding regulatory requirements and survey readiness.
- Monitor clinical documentation, nutrition assessment practices, and care planning processes for consistency and compliance.
- Support infection prevention, workplace safety, and food safety programs in collaboration with facility leadership.
- Partner with facility administrators, directors of nursing, corporate leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to support clinical and operational objectives.
- Participate in business reviews, operational meetings, and strategic planning initiatives as requested.
