Description:
The position involves working night shifts in a hospital setting.
The Physician Assistant will manage and care for post-operative and ICU patients.
The average patient census is typically between 15-25 patients per shift, with a maximum of 25.The PA will primarily handle patients coming from step-down units or the operating room.
There is an available fellow at night for support during busier shifts.
The PA may perform History and Physicals (H&P) for patients transferred from outside hospitals.
ACLS certification is mandatory as the PA may be the first responder until additional support is available.
Strong skills in managing chest tubes, drains, and feeding tubes are necessary for this role.
ACLS certification and active participation in a code team are required.
This position is needed to cover maternity leave.
