Associate Director, Gene Therapy Account Manager

Role:
Associate Director, Gene Therapy Account Manager supporting Vertex’s Sickle Cell Disease and Transfusion-dependent β-thalassemia (TDT) business. Primary objective s include key account management and access/reimbursement support to ensure operational readiness and patient access for Casgevy in the Southeast territory (FL, GA, AL).

• Serve as the main contact for Activated Treatment Centers (ATCs)
• Facilitate training and education
• Build stakeholder relationships
• Develop engagement strategies
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to streamline patient care and access
• Maintain deep clinical expertise in Hematology, particularly SCD, TDT, and HSCT, and act as a liaison with key thought leaders
• Communicate payer coverage, billing, coding, and reimbursement principles; escalat  complex access issues to internal teams

• Bachelor's degree, minimum of 8 years in key account or sales management within biotech, device, or specialty fields such as Cell & Gene Therapy, Hematology, or rare diseases
• Experience with hospital finance, claims processing, prior authorization, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy networks, and market access/reimbursement landscape
• Preferred: knowledge of HIPAA, CMMI, inpatient/outpatient claims, and managed care
• High-Value: focus on gene therapy in hematology, complex access and reimbursement environment, patient journey support, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration
