Key Responsibilities- Operate CT equipment (CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, patient monitoring devices) to acquire diagnostic images in accordance with departmental protocols, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and shielding
- Select appropriate imaging factors and image designated body portions; perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction following all applicable policies and procedures
- Explain exams to patients with consideration for physical and emotional needs while maintaining ethical standards including patient confidentiality and professional conduct
- Calibrate and verify operation of all equipment at the start of each workday; report malfunctions and repair needs to appropriate personnel
- Execute all required paperwork and Radiology Information System functions for each patient exam, including scheduling, exam completion, and image transfer to PACS
- Float among radiology clinics and divisions as needed; transport and transfer patients per departmental guidelines; participate in on-call coverage and remain flexible with shift coverage and overtime as necessary
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
- Current Massachusetts State Radiologic and CT Technologist license required
- ARRT registration in CT (or equivalent) required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Siemens CT equipment experience required
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients experiencing physical and/or emotional stress
- 2–3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least one year specifically in CT
- Analytical ability to acquire and apply knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy
- Experience mentoring or instructing radiology students or support personnel
