The Raw Bar, Seaport – General Manager

Posted on February 18, 2026

Island Creek Oysters (ICO) is a mission‑based brand engaged in promoting the development of aquaculture’s role in our food systems—locally and globally. Island Creek Oysters seeks to create incredible guest experiences that capture the spirits and ethos of a modern day oyster farm. The ICO guest experience celebrates the Island Creek way of life both on the farm in Duxbury, MA and further afield in Portland, ME.

Opening for Summer 2026, the newest extension of the ICO guest experience features a sprawling outdoor seasonal patio space located in the Boston Seaport neighborhood. The ICO experience will capture the best of ICO products (oysters, caviar, tinned fish), craft beer, wine and cocktails accompanied by genuine, casual hospitality. The outdoor space will be operational April – October.

The General Manager reports directly to the Director of Hospitality. This is a year‑round, full‑time position with increased hours in the busy summer months. In the winter, this person would work part‑time operational hours and focus on preparation for the upcoming season. In the summer, we anticipate 55‑60 hours weekly, and in the winter, we estimate 20 hours weekly.

As the General Manager, you will oversee all operations for the Raw Bar Seaport Boston, opening in April 2026. You will develop an operational plan for the large outdoor patio space, emulate current Raw Bar operations, and lead hiring, training and team management to execute the ICO guest experience in a city format.

Role

  • Help determine outdoor patio layout, including equipment, service materials and storage solutions.

  • Make sound decisions daily around patio capacity, staffing, set‑up of the space, and weather modifications to positively impact operations for guests and the team.
  • Adjust appropriately for summer staffing, as opposed to shoulder season staffing.
  • Execute training for all new hires, working within established training programs for Raw Bar roles.
  • Execute ongoing training for the team.
  • Coach and manage all staff in service, covering service, hospitality, product knowledge, set‑up and breakdown.
  • Ensure operational execution for all positions (Shucker, Tins, Runner, Host, Support) through oversight and management.
  • Work in service, on the patio, in a high‑volume environment to create a great guest and team experience overall.
  • Create and organize local events & experiences, including live music, special events and partnerships.
  • Pursue private event business, supporting all event leads and potential events.
  • Oversee ordering for food, beverage and necessary supplies and conduct monthly inventory.
  • Uphold all food safety and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining all licenses and permitting.
  • Act as key contact for guest questions and feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with the Pros Management Team for the global good.
  • Be a compelling leader, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements

  • Meet established sales, labor and cost goals for the Seaport Operations.

Compensation will be negotiated with the candidate and includes health, dental and vision benefits, 401K plan with matching at 1 year, short and long‑term disability insurance, and free oysters.

We believe in personal and professional growth at Island Creek. Change and agility are parts of everyday life here. Every position is fluid and we believe the right person can grow to do amazing things.
