Aboutthe Millennium Bostonian Hotel
The Millennium Bostonian hotel is looking for a dynamic, hands‑on, market‑savvy General Manager to work for a fun, cool and growing Hotel Company. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Hotel General Manager for full‑service or lifestyle brands. The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, day‑to‑day staff management, and guest experience, and should be a true ambassador of the property, who lives, breathes, and enjoys the vibrant hotel brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per the Organizational chart.
- Ensure full compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
- Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service, and refurbishment.
- Handle complaints and oversee service recovery procedures.
- Prepare, present, and achieve the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan, and Capital Budget.
- Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
- Make decisions in the best interest of the hotel and management.
- Deliver hotel budget goals and set short and long‑term strategic goals for the property.
- Develop improvement actions and carry out cost savings.
- Use strong understanding of P&L statements to react with impactful strategies.
- Closely monitor the hotel’s business reports on a daily basis and make decisions accordingly.
- Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General are on target and accurate.
- Maximize room yield and hotel revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting for owners and stakeholders.
- Exceed brand expectations and be an ambassador for the Company brand.
- Conduct regular meetings with management and staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, or a combination of school and experience.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience as General Manager.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Knowledge or working experience within a unionized environment.
- Extensive knowledge of leisure, hotel and service sector.
- Pre‑opening experience or rebranding and change management experience is a plus.
- Savvy Boston market knowledge and experience would be an asset.
- Outstanding leadership and management skills.
- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in increasing profitability.
- Experience managing budgets, revenue proposals, and forecasting results in a similar sized property.
- Previous experience in a similar large single or multi‑site role, especially in hospitality industry and General Management.
