Opportunity

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston is currently looking for a Conference Services Manager. The role coordinates all requirements for various conference groups booked by the Sales Department, enforces the terms of sales agreements, guides meeting planners through the planning process, communicates client needs to all departments, and ensures successful execution and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate with clients using creative and attractive menu presentations and event proposals to maximize revenue while fulfilling contractual responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Department and Catering to ensure proper utilization of function space and maximize revenues.
  • Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings, upsell where appropriate, and maintain effective written and personal communication with all departments.
  • Maintain an active trace/follow‑up system and ensure accuracy of banquet checks and bill review on completion of events.
  • Supervise the execution of banquet events and review all function space with the banquet manager or head house attendant.
  • Plan and participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including morning operations briefings, conference services briefings, resume meetings, banquet event order meetings, sales meetings, pre‑convention meetings, bi‑monthly board of operations, planning visits, and menu tastings.
  • Comply with Four Seasons standards for conference services, work harmoniously with co‑workers, and make timely decisions that balance client needs with financial, safety, and staffing goals.
  • Find solutions to challenges that arise during on‑property groups and promptly inform the Director of Conference Services and Planning Committee of any issues or unusual matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities, and meeting space dimensions and basic operational needs of all operating departments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (CMP Certification preferred).
  • 2 to 3 years of experience directly related to hotel conference services.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Strong selling and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of creativity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environment.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, weekends, and evenings.
  • Strong negotiation, organization, delegation, and pressure‑management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of audio‑visual equipment and Internet technology (helpful).
