Located in the heart of Back Bay, Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street is Boston’s glass skyscraper that soars above the city as the third tallest building in Boston. The hotel’s 215 spacious guest rooms and suites feature floor‑to‑ceiling windows with views across the city. Other amenities include The Wellness Floor, an urban spa destination, and chic restaurants such as brunch hotspot One+One and Trifecta, a restaurant and cocktail lounge.
The hotel also offers more than 10,000 square feet of dedicated meeting and event space and 160 private residences with views of the city, Charles River, Boston Harbor and far‑flung horizons.
Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston is currently looking for a Conference Services Manager!
Basic PurposeCoordinates all requirements for various conference groups booked by the Sales Department. Responsible for enforcing the terms of the sales letter of agreement and guiding meeting planners through the planning process. Communicates the needs and expectations of the client with all departments in the hotel to ensure successful execution of group events and client satisfaction.
Essential Functions of the Job- Negotiate with clients using creative and attractive menu presentations and event proposals to achieve maximum revenue and contractual fulfillment while satisfying client needs.
- Coordinate with the Sales Department and Catering to ensure proper utilization of function space and maximize revenues.
- Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings, upselling opportunities, and maintain effective written and verbal communication with all departments for event success. Maintain an active trace‑follow‑up system and ensure accuracy of banquet checks.
- Supervise the execution of banquet events, reviewing function spaces with the banquet manager and head house attendant to ensure client satisfaction at the outset of all events.
- Participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including morning operations briefings, CS briefings, resume meetings, banquet event order meetings, sales meetings, bi‑monthly Board of Operations, planning visits, and menu tastings.
- Comply with Four Seasons standards for conference services while working harmoniously with co‑workers and the planning committee.
- Make timely and impromptu decisions, balancing client needs with the hotel’s financial, safety, and staffing goals.
- Find solutions to challenges and setbacks that arise during group events and keep the Director of Conference Services and Planning Committee informed for prompt corrective action.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, meeting space capacities, dimensions, and basic operational needs of all departments.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or CMP Certification preferred. - Experience:
2–3 years directly related to hotel conference services. - Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
- Strong selling and interpersonal skills.
- High level of creativity and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast‑paced client‑driven environment.
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Ability to negotiate, organize, delegate, and work under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of audio‑visual equipment and Internet technology – helpful.
