PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF POSITIONThe Server is a member of the Food and Beverage team that assists in ensuring that guest service and food and beverage standards are met. Hospitable, welcoming and friendly guest services are essential requirements of the position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Greet guests in an efficient and friendly manner/explain specials/answer questions/take orders.
- Serve food and beverages per established procedures.
- Upsell additional items (appetizers, desserts, beverages) to all guests.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests; report complaints to manager.
- Assist bussers as needed (setting/clearing tables).
- Provide maximum levels of guest service while maintaining Brand and Forbes standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Attend training sessions as determined by supervisor.
- Assist bartender, busser and bar back as needed.
- Complete assigned side work.
- Additional duties not mentioned above may also be requested by supervisor.
- Prior F&B experience required; knowledge of beverage and food service.
- Make minor decisions requiring limited judgment, i.e. task sequencing.
- Ability to remain composed & professional, especially when working with high volume under pressure
- Attend departmental meetings and trainings as necessary.
- Must become TIPS and Serv Safe certified if not already.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (read, write & speak).
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy restaurant environment while maintaining service standards.
- Ability to be a team player.
- Able to stand/walk for length of shift; stand, reach, grasp, lift & carry up to 30 pounds.
- $19.50 per hour plus gratuity
