Join our client, a longstanding leader in public health committed to promoting equity and well-being in Boston. As a Benefits Leave Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with employment laws while supporting employees through leave and accommodation processes. Compensation:
$38.00/hr
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate leave and accommodation requests, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Lead leave management for FMLA, parental, and other applicable leaves, including administrative oversight and documentation processing.
- Collaborate with employees to secure accurate medical documentation and assist with return-to-work procedures.
- Facilitate communication regarding reasonable accommodations, maintaining follow-up correspondence.
- Generate reports to analyze leave trends and ensure proper tracking.
- Collect medical premiums for employees on leave or workers' compensation.
- Maintain detailed records of all leave types, tracking hours and liaising with supervisors for compliant leave practices.
- Oversee Paid Parental Leave policies by processing approvals and monitoring usage.
- Handle short-term and long-term disability claims efficiently and accurately.
- Respond to inquiries related to Workers' Compensation and allocate leaves accordingly.
- Administer quarterly sick leave and absence without leave (AWOL) policies, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Monitor and document all employee leaves and accommodations, ensuring record accuracy and confidentiality.
- Investigate potential leave fraud issues and collaborate with supervisors to resolve concerns.
- Uphold confidentiality of medical records following HIPAA guidelines.
- Review Catastrophic Illness Leave Bank requests and coordinate with payroll on approved sick time.
- Keep thorough records of COVID-19 related medical documentation and leave processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated expertise in leave law compliance, including FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation.
- Prior experience with ADP systems is essential.
- Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational abilities complemented by clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven capability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Typically requires a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
