The Payroll Manager will serve as a key operator within Trove’s Lifestyle team, overseeing complex, multi-state household payroll for ultra-high-net-worth client families and related entities. This individual will own end-to-end payroll execution, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as a subject matter resource to internal teams.
This role requires strong technical payroll expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate in a high-touch, fast-paced environment where discretion and precision are critical.
Key Responsibilities- Own end-to-end multi-state payroll processing for complex client household structures, including estate staff, domestic employees, and related entities
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, reimbursements, garnishments, and other compensation adjustments
- Oversee payroll tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely filings and accurate reporting
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to ensure accuracy and proactively resolve discrepancies
- Partner closely with Lifestyle Associates, Relationship Managers, and Finance to ensure seamless payroll delivery within broader client servicing workflows
- Serve as a subject matter expert on household payroll regulations, providing guidance on wage and hour compliance, tax implications, and payroll best practices
- Maintain and optimize payroll data integrity within Paylocity and related systems
- Prepare and review payroll reporting, staffing cost analyses, and ad hoc client-related requests
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the development of standardized payroll procedures across client households
- Assist in onboarding new client payroll setups and transitions from external providers
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in payroll administration
- 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience, preferably supporting complex or household payroll environments
- Strong working knowledge of payroll tax compliance and wage and hour regulations
- Experience with Paylocity strongly preferred
- High level of discretion when handling sensitive client and employee information
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple payroll cycles simultaneously - Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
