The Opportunity

The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic HR partner and operational resource supporting employees, managers, and organizational initiatives. This role provides expertise across employee relations, HR compliance, HRIS administration, benefits, compensation, performance management, leave administration, Workers’ Compensation, recruitment, onboarding, and organizational development.

The Senior HR Generalist will partner closely with leadership and employees to promote a compliant, engaged, and high‑performing workplace while ensuring HR processes, records, and programs are effectively maintained and continuously improved.

Essential Functions

Employee Relations & HR Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees regarding employee relations matters, workplace concerns, policy interpretation, performance management, and HR best practices.
  • Lead and support employee relations activities including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, corrective actions, disciplinary processes, and workplace concerns.
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints, policy violations, and workplace issues while maintaining appropriate documentation and confidentiality.
  • Provide guidance to managers regarding performance issues, employee concerns, attendance matters, and effective employee management practices.
  • Mediate workplace conflicts to promote respectful, productive, and collaborative working relationships.
  • Partner with leadership to identify employee trends, engagement opportunities, retention strategies, and workforce needs.

HR Compliance Tracking & Maintenance

  • Maintain and monitor HR compliance requirements, ensuring employment practices align with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Track and maintain compliance documentation including employee files, required acknowledgements, training records, certifications, audits, and HR reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR records, systems, and processes to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support compliance reporting requirements, including audits, government reporting, 5500 reporting, unemployment claims, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and Employee Handbook content as needed.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the organization.

HRIS Administration & Reporting

  • Manage and maintain employee records with a high level of confidentiality while ensuring HRIS (ADP) data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
  • Execute employee status changes, personnel action requests, and HR updates within HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Support HRIS administration including system configuration, workflow optimization, onboarding, benefits, compensation tracking, reporting, and performance management.
  • Partner with HR leadership and technology teams to implement system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Train managers and HR team members on HRIS functionality, processes, and best practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze HR metrics, reports, dashboards, and KPIs to support business decisions.

Leave of Absence (LOA), ADA & Return-to-Work Administration

  • Manage and support all leave administration processes, including FMLA, PFML, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, and other employee leave requests.
  • Maintain active communication with employees and managers throughout leave processes while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Track leave documentation, deadlines, approvals, and required communications to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
