Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment and Staffing- Coordinate and facilitate orientation and hiring activities.
- Screen applications, schedule interviews, and conduct preliminary candidate assessments.
- Coordinate pre-employment orientation activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
- Promote positive employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment activities.
- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other applicable leave policies.
- Liaise with benefits providers and vendors.
- Support performance evaluation processes.
- Assist managers with employee development plans and coaching strategies.
- Coordinate employee training and professional development programs.
- Maintain training records and compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist with policy development, implementation, and communication.
- Maintain personnel files and HR records in accordance with legal requirements.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to HR activities and compliance audits.
- Maintain employee information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Generate workforce reports and employment metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible human resources experience.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance preferred.
- Public sector or municipal government experience preferred.
- Experience with ADP preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and applicant tracking systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
- Primarily office-based environment.
- Occasional attendance at meetings, training sessions, recruitment events, and employee programs.
- May require extended periods of sitting and computer use.
