Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 days remote)
Compensation: $170k - $195k base salary / ~$233k - $267k total package
A leading global alternative investment firm is seeking a Hybrid Cloud Network Architect to design, modernize, and operate enterprise-scale hybrid network infrastructure across on-premises environments and public cloud platforms. This is a highly visible role with significant ownership, technical depth, and long-term growth potential. This role requires recent, hands-on operational ownership of enterprise networks, including on-call responsibility and incident response.
The OpportunityThis role sits within a centralized technology organization supporting a diverse global investment platform. You’ll play a critical role in architecting and evolving secure, scalable, and automated network environments spanning data centers, offices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure).

Key Responsibilities Architecture & Engineering- Design, implement, and maintain hybrid network architectures across on-prem and cloud environments
- Integrate cloud and on-prem networks using Direct Connect, Express Route, VPNs, and secure routing strategies
- Architect and support enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN environments
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption for network provisioning and configuration
- Build and maintain automation workflows using Terraform, Git, and scripting (Python/Shell/Power Shell)
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines enabling consistent, auditable network deployments
- Support global network operations across North America, EMEA, and APAC
- Manage carrier services and connectivity providers
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, reliability, and security
- Maintain clear architectural and operational documentation
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical incidents
- Implement network access control and segmentation solutions
- Ensure compliance with internal security standards across all environments
- 8+ years of enterprise-level routing and switching experience
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Aruba LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS
- Experience with cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure (VPCs/VNets, routing, connectivity)
- Recent hands-on experience operating Cisco and/or Aruba environments in production.
- Recent hands-on experience designing and deploying network infrastructure using Terraform (not just consuming IaC).
- Proficiency with Git and modern development tooling
- Scripting experience (Python, Shell, or Power Shell)
- Experience designing and documenting complex network architectures
- Background supporting secure, highly available enterprise environments
