Bioinformatics Scientist, Genomics and Data Integration
OverviewWe are looking for a bioinformatics scientist to play a key role in the analysis of next generation sequencing data and the integration of complex biological datasets. This position focuses on building, operating, and refining robust analytical pipelines that support large scale genomics and systems biology initiatives within a data driven life sciences environment.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of biology, computation, and data engineering. You will contribute directly to the quality, reliability, and scientific value of genomics and multi omics data used in advanced modeling and digital biology platforms.
The RoleYou will be responsible for designing and executing bioinformatics workflows that transform raw sequencing data into high quality, interpretable results. Working closely with experimental scientists, data scientists, and engineers, you will ensure that analytical outputs are accurate, reproducible, and ready for downstream modeling and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, run, and maintain end to end genomics analysis workflows, including quality control, alignment, variant calling, and annotation.
- Ensure analytical robustness and reproducibility across sequencing and multi omics pipelines.
- Manage and maintain biological datasets and associated metadata within structured databases.
- Curate, validate, and document datasets to support downstream analysis and modeling.
- Generate clear, well structured analytical reports for scientific and technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with wet lab scientists to align computational methods with experimental design.
- Genomics and transcriptomics data processing and interpretation.
- Workflow development using established tools such as GATK, BWA, and STAR.
- Statistical analysis and visualization using R and Bioconductor.
- Scripting and pipeline development in Python.
- Cloud based data processing and workflow orchestration.
- Strong foundation in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a closely related field.
- Hands on experience analyzing next generation sequencing data in a production or research setting.
- Comfort working with large datasets, databases, and structured analytical workflows.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and reproducibility.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to cross functional teams.
A master’s or doctoral degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related discipline is required. Ideal candidates will have two to five years of professional experience applying bioinformatics methods in research or industry settings.
If you are passionate about transforming complex biological data into meaningful insight, enjoy building reliable analytical systems, and want to contribute to the future of data driven biology, this role offers an exciting opportunity to grow and make impact.
