Overview
The eDiscovery Specialist assists attorneys and client teams by providing technical support throughout the litigation life cycle. The position acts as a technical liaison between attorneys and clients on electronic discovery matters. The role requires an understanding of legal practices, the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), and Nixon Peabody’s business direction. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position.

- Work with firm attorneys and client IT departments to execute plans for the preservation, collection, review, and production of relevant electronic data.
- Establish and manage discovery databases for the review, analysis, and production of electronic data.
- Conduct non‑forensic collections of electronic data.
- Coordinate third‑party vendors providing services such as paper document scanning, backup tape restoration, forensic collection/analysis, and collection of web‑hosted data repositories.
- Provide tactical support of all legal applications.
- Conduct training/orientation to attorneys and paralegals related to the firm’s current legal applications.
- Troubleshoot database errors in Relativity.
- 2‑3 years of litigation/investigation process experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Experience with the Electronic Reference Model (EDRM) and Relativity required.
- College degree required; experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to communicate complex technical details to unfamiliar audiences.
- Wide‑range proficiency in Relativity features and functionality.
- Strong familiarity and practical experience with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with personnel at all levels.
- Knowledge of transcript management, case chronology and trial support applications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and/or problems, including complex issues that require collaboration between users, NP IT support, and vendors to ensure timely response or resolution.
- Solid understanding of firm practices and business direction.
- Professionalism under pressure.

Compensation & BenefitsAnticipated annual salary range:
Chicago, IL: $89,000 – $132,000;
Los Angeles, CA: $89,000 – $132,000;
San Francisco, CA: $98,000 – $145,750. In addition to a standard benefits package, this role may be eligible for additional contingent compensation based on performance, geographic location, work experience, education, and qualifications.
