Responsibilities- Assist in coordinating and implementing data communication systems.
- Troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems accurately, and communicate solutions to co-workers or end users.
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to support procurement and development efforts.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Monitor network activity to ensure timely identification of problems and efficient operations.
- Communicate with data-communication vendors to facilitate resolution of circuit or hardware problems.
- Produce clear and timely documentation of network problems.
- Maintain current knowledge of teleprocessing-network concepts and hardware alternatives through continuing education and training.
- Plan and coordinate movement, placement, installation, and cabling of data communications equipment.
- Assist in developing the organization’s direction for telecommunication implementation of total network services.
- Conduct site visits and walkthroughs to assess network infrastructure and provide recommendations, collaborating with the network team or manager.
- Evaluate new construction projects and new locations for network recommendations and implementation.
- Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and assist at emergencies or events as needed.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking products.
- Expertise with VXLAN, EIGRP, and BGP.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues and communicating resolutions to stakeholders.
- Experience overseeing installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment.
- Background in researching network products, protocols, and standards to guide procurement and development.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and executing network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Experience coordinating cabling and physical placement of data communications equipment.
- Ability to conduct site assessments and produce actionable recommendations for network infrastructure.
- CCIE in Cisco Switching and Routing (written and practical).
