Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst within the Policy IT team. The role will be accountable for understanding the business requirements, system processing implications and data needs for policy administration systems in our organization. The role will partner with both business leaders and IT resources to translate business needs into system requirements and technical specifications.
This role will require you to work together with team members to deliver the products that meet and/or exceed our business customer expectations within the policy vertical.
- Engage with business partners to elicit requirements using interviews, documentation analysis, requirements gathering, and workshops.
- Develop business requirement documentation, use cases, mockup dashboard designs and workflow diagrams.
- Organize information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and present information for review and approval by business customers.
- Participate in project meetings with both business and technology teams.
- Coordinate efforts to gather requirements for multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Work with geographically dispersed teams across disciplines, including architects, business analysts, developers, and testers.
- Provide periodic status updates to stakeholders and escalate issues/risks on time.
- Engage in the development and execution of testing plans, document and triage issues.
- Identify areas for process improvements and make recommendations.
- 3 to 6 years’ experience in the commercial insurance domain, or equivalent related experience and/or training.
- 2 years’ experience with an insurance policy platform (Duck Creek, Guidewire, Majesco, Insurity, One Shield, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, subject matter experts, and vendor resources.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on style with strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing environments and strong customer service orientation.

The base salary range for this position in Boston is $80,000 to $115,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation is determined by relevant skills, location, and experience.
