Tech Lead - Data Engineering

Overview

A high-growth SaaS company is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its US team. This is a hands-on and strategic role — ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex data challenges while mentoring others and shaping scalable architectures.

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines integrating diverse scientific and enterprise data sources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical needs into reliable, production-ready solutions.
• Develop reusable frameworks, improve data quality, and enhance analytics capabilities across products.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and best-practice standards across the data engineering function.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead by example through high-quality, maintainable code.

• 6+ years’ experience in data engineering or software development, ideally within SaaS, analytics, or data-driven environments.
• Advanced skills in Python and SQL
  , with experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Proven ability to deliver complex data projects end-to-end and work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities in fast-moving environments.
• Domain exposure to life sciences, biotech, or other data-intensive sectors is advantageous but not required.
