Overview
This is a Lead Network Administrator contract role based in Boston, MA (10 Park Plaza) with a major public transit and infrastructure organization supporting mission-critical data and communication systems across the region. This is a long-term contract through June 2026, offering the chance to work with Cisco and enterprise-scale networking technologies in a hybrid environment (onsite 5 days/week for 2 months, then 3 onsite / 2 remote).
This position is ideal for a senior-level Network Administrator or Network Engineer who thrives in hands-on technical environments and enjoys problem-solving will play a key role in implementing and optimizing high-availability network systems that support public operations. This opportunity offers stability, growth, and the chance to impact one of the region’s largest infrastructure networks—great for someone who values technical challenge and meaningful work.
This role cannot support a sponsorship or work visa at this time; candidates must obtain a Green Card or US Citizenship.

Daily Responsibilities

- 8+ years of experience in network administration or engineering
- Strong background with Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls
- Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN environments and VPNs
- Skilled in troubleshooting, documentation, and root cause analysis
- Experience working with network vendors and managing hardware issues
- Experience in large enterprise or public-sector network environments
- Familiarity with network design for new construction or site expansion
- Working knowledge of ITIL or other structured operational processes
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Network+
