Are you interested in working with the teams that developed the Kindle, FireTV and Alexa? The Amazon Devices and Service Finance organization is expanding our technology team, and we are looking for a Systems Development Engineer to architect solutions, build features and tools that will have an immediate impact, as well as partnering with finance and business leaders in Devices and Services to drive results.
You will have an opportunity to collaborate with Data Engineers, Application Development Engineers, and Systems Engineers to help build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ETL pipelines, and event monitoring solutions will help shape the strategic direction and decisions for data integration and monitoring of critical Devices Finance Data Engineering platforms.
As a Sys Dev Engineer, you should be an expert in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and technologies including but not limited to EC2, S3, Red Shift, and Glue, to support real-world big data pipelines. You will build robust and secure solutions to address software vulnerabilities, upgrades and patching.
An ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, adapts quickly to new technologies, and has high career growth potential. On a typical day you might:
- Dive Deep while working with customers, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving problems across various technologies
- Create and update engineering or customer-facing documentation
- Develop runbooks, or build tools, used by customers or other Systems Engineers
- Identify customer pain points, raising concerns to your team, to shape the product roadmap
- Administer & monitor multiple AWS Accounts.
- Solve both tactical and strategic problems simultaneously
- Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
- Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
- Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure
- Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux based systems (Amazon Linux 2 AMI)
- Resolve Problem Management and Resolution tickets
- Ensure environment security follows best practices
- Cognos BI, TM1 and Tableau application Administration and maintenance experience
- Act as the technical leader for application support and enhancement issues
- Plan and schedule Cognos administration projects; provide technical vision and leadership
- Monitor AWS Services and integration with other applications. Also to provide usage and performance metrics
- Perform some production support duties during off-hours, on rotation
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, Power BI and CRM Salesforce
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification, or Associate's degree or above
- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
- Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting, or experience in software development and experience in Kubernetes, Docker or containers ecosystem
- 5+ years of cloud and on-premise integration experience
