Position: Technical E-Board Member (Volunteer)

The Boston University Artificial Intelligence Society (BUAIS) is dedicated to building a collaborative hub for AI enthusiasts, professionals, and scholars to advance artificial intelligence. We aim to make AI concepts accessible to everyone at BU, regardless of background, promote innovative projects that push the boundaries of AI, and encourage partnerships with tech communities and leaders across industries. At BUAIS, our vision is to use AI to create impactful and ethical solutions for society, fostering learning and innovation.

Role Description

The Technical E-Board Member (Volunteer) is a part-time on-site role based in Greater Boston. This role involves organizing and participating in technical discussions, workshops, and projects. Responsibilities include assisting in planning and leading society initiatives, supporting the technical development of member projects, collaborating with peers to create resources and educational materials, and fostering partnerships with the broader AI community.

Qualifications
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Passion for AI education, innovation, and community engagement
  • Ability to work on-site with team members in Greater Boston
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities, with experience working on technical projects or in volunteer-led organizations.
Open tracks (you can select one or more)
  • Tech Teacher – deliver workshops/labs (Python, ML, robotics, tooling)
  • Curriculum Developer – design structured learning modules, labs, project guides
  • Technical E-Board – lead project infrastructure, technical strategy, and member mentoring
  • Non-technical E-Board – lead operations, marketing, outreach, fundraising, event managing, and student managing.
Responsibilities
  • Build and improve hands‑on technical curriculum
  • Mentor members and support project teams
  • Help run technical sessions and internal documentation
  • Collaborate with e-board on roadmap, events, and execution
