Enterprise Applications Support Engineer – Legal Tech

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid, 2 days on-site)
- we are also open to candidates in NYC and Washington DC who can work in a hybrid environment

Compensation: $100,000–$120,000 DOE, plus bonus and benefits

We’re partnered with a leading US intellectual property law firm who are seeking an Enterprise Applications Support Engineer to support their critical business systems and help drive ongoing technology initiatives. This role sits at the heart of their legal operations, working across document management, finance, and IP applications that underpin the firm’s client service and growth.

This is an applications-focused engineering role for someone who wants ownership over core legal business systems rather than general help desk work. You’ll support, configure, and enhance a suite of enterprise applications – including DMS, finance, and IP platforms – and play a key role in upcoming projects such as an iManage (on‑prem to cloud) migration and an Adderant upgrade.

• Support and maintain the firm’s legal-specific applications and associated workflows
• Assist with the migration from iManage on‑prem to a cloud DMS environment
• Support and help deliver an Adderant finance system upgrade
• Manage updates and releases for IP applications (e.g. CPI, IPDOS)
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in partnership with infrastructure and support teams
• Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure systems are stable, performant, and fit for purpose

• Experience as an Applications Engineer / Application Support Engineer in a professional services or legal environment
• Hands‑on experience with legal DMS platforms such as iManage or Net Documents
• Experience with legal finance systems such as Adderant or Elite
• Background in application deployment, upgrades, and configuration (not just ticket‑based support)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, SQL‑backed applications, and integrations
• Comfortable working closely with IT leadership and collaborating with support and infrastructure teams

You’ll be the go‑to applications specialist for a highly respected, Boston‑based IP law firm, working directly on high‑visibility projects that modernize their core systems.
