Data Analyst, Data Science Manager
Overview
Trans Medics, Inc. is seeking a Learning Analytics Intern to support data-driven decisions within the Learning & Development (L&D) team. The intern will analyze learning engagement, assessment performance, certification outcomes, and program effectiveness. The work will inform leadership decisions and help shape the future of training programs. This internship is ideal for students studying data science or analytics.
Responsibilities- Gather, clean, and analyze learning data from systems such as LMS activity logs, assessment and certification data, and survey responses/qualitative feedback.
- Develop dashboards and automated reports using tools such as Excel, Power BI or similar BI tools, and LMS reporting features.
- Identify patterns and trends in learner behavior, performance, and program usage.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for L&D stakeholders.
- Support the development and tracking of metrics such as time to proficiency, assessment outcomes, program completion rates, and learning impact/ROI indicators.
- Prepare executive-ready visualizations, one-page summaries, and data narratives.
- Recommend opportunities for improving course design, onboarding pathways, and certification processes based on data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, or related field.
- College Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with datasets.
- Proficiency with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts).
- Proficiency with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Ability to communicate data insights clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Curiosity, attention to detail, and interest in how people learn.
- Self-directed and takes initiative.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LMS reporting or educational data.
- Experience with automation (Power Query, Power Automate, Python, or R).
- Experience working with JSON and REST APIs.
- Experience with MySQL, Postgre
SQL, Mongo
DB. - Experience with Python or JavaScript and their associated visualization libraries.
- Knowledge of research methods or program evaluation.
- Interest in learning science, instructional design, or talent development.
- Hands-on experience applying analytics in a real organizational L&D environment.
- Experience building dashboards and executive-facing reporting tools.
- Exposure to instructional design, course development, and learning strategy.
- Mentorship from senior members of the Learning & Development team.
- A portfolio of data visualizations and analysis projects.
