You’ll Work With

When you join Arista as part of the Sales Engineering team, you become part of a group of industry experts and technical leaders. Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with top field engineers, Product Management, Software Development, and our TAC support. Positioned to influence product developments and strategic direction, you will work with cutting‑edge proof‑of‑concept resources and executive leadership to drive innovation.

What

You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with Arista Account Managers to gain a deep understanding of enterprise and commercial clients and conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Present Arista product solutions—including Open Networking Data Center, Cognitive Campus (including Wi‑Fi), Cloud Vision (Network Automation), Security, Endpoint Security, and Real‑time Fabric Monitoring—to prospects and customers.
  • Design and implement scalable Arista Data Center and Campus network solutions using leaf and spine architectures, overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN, to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough hands‑on testing of customer proof‑of‑concept setups, network designs, and deployments, ensuring successful deployment and performance of Arista products.
  • Provide design guidelines and recommendations that balance customer needs with Arista Validated Designs to optimize network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to respond to RFP/RFQs and provide valuable feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Help ensure Arista network solutions meet client needs and shape future product features and functions.
  • Represent Arista at SDN and other Open Networking industry events and conferences, building awareness and promoting innovative solutions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and competitive solutions, including Cisco and Juniper.
  • Author and collaborate on white papers that showcase your expertise in network design and implementation.
Qualifications
  • Network industry certification preferred (e.g., ACE‑L4, ACE‑L6, ACE‑L7).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in L2/L3 networking design and implementation focused on Data Center, Campus, and Wi‑Fi solutions.
  • Expert‑level experience with routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols and overlay technologies such as VxLAN.
  • Hands‑on experience designing highly scalable leaf‑spine network architectures.
  • Preferred work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre‑Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP (including eBGP), Multicast, Spanning Tree, and QoS.
  • Strong understanding of competitor technologies, especially Cisco and Juniper.
  • Expert‑level knowledge of CLI and network automation using Python and Ansible.
  • Strong writing skills for creating informative white papers.
  • Local or regional candidate required.
