Our client, a leader in Professional Services, is looking for a skilled Sr. Data Engineer to join their team for a permanent, full-time engagement. This role is essential for the successful modernization of data platforms and practices, serving as a crucial point of contact for the Finance Data and Analytics Team. The project involves a significant firm‑wide technology transformation, including the introduction of AI and a shift to new cloud‑based data platforms, such as Snowflake.
This is a high‑impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can work independently and drive change across the organization.
- Managing, evaluating, and enhancing existing finance‑related data platforms, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and cloud‑based solutions to improve scalability, accessibility, and security.
- Designing, building, and maintaining robust data integration and ETL/ELT pipelines to support the creation of data warehouse and analytical data models.
- Contributing to the establishment and optimization of standardized procedures for data management, governance, quality, and lifecycle management to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, business units, and senior management to drive data‑driven initiatives and foster a data‑driven culture.
- Monitoring and optimizing enterprise data platforms and data engineering processes to enhance data processing efficiency and overall system performance.
- 5‑7 years of experience in a senior data engineering or database architecture role.
- Advanced SQL development and modeling skills, including associated tools.
- Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining data integration and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Python for data engineering and automation.
- Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms and services, such as Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience working with legal billing system software (ideally Adarant) is a strong plus.
- Proven experience with relational database management systems and related data technologies.
- Experience integrating with APIs and working with structured and semi‑structured data formats (e.g., JSON and XML).
- Experience using Git or similar tools for source control and version management.
- Familiarity with AI and large language model technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise updates to the project team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
