IT Manager

I’m working with a well‑established mid‑sized organization in Boston that’s looking to hire a hands‑on IT Manager to lead and modernize their IT environment.

• Strong company stability with long‑tenured employees
• High visibility role working closely with senior leadership
• Real impact: infrastructure environment needs modernization and fresh direction
• Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, flexible on which days)

• 70–85% hands‑on technical leadership (this is key)

• VMware and Microsoft 365 (O365, Azure, Entra, Teams, One Drive)
• Networking fundamentals (switching, VLANs, firewalls)
• Security and infrastructure operations
• Power Shell or automation experience
• Exposure to Nutanix is a plus

• Own and improve a mixed cloud/on‑prem environment (~60% cloud / 40% on‑prem)
• Lead infrastructure upgrades across VMware and Nutanix
• Help operationalize security and compliance initiatives
• Partner closely with a small, experienced IT team
• Stay actively involved in day‑to‑day engineering work

• 7–12+ years of IT infrastructure experience
• Comes from a mid‑sized environment (not overly siloed)
• Someone who wants to stay hands‑on, not move into pure management
• Strong communicator who can work across technical and business teams

• Local Boston area candidates preferred due to hybrid schedule
