Klaviyo's Global Corporate Information Technology (IT) organization provides technology systems, administration, and support to employees worldwide.

The IT Collaboration Technology & Engineering (CT&E) team manages the complete lifecycle of collaboration technologies and audiovisual systems. This includes automation, engineering solutions, and cross-functional partnership with:

• IT Support (Searchbar, Networking, Systems)

• Security, Risk, and Trust teams

• The broader Engineering organization
About the Role

The Lead AV Engineer will play a critical role in shaping AV strategy and driving AV initiatives across the organization. You will lead and mentor AV technicians, manage AV system design, installation, and maintenance, and ensure seamless AV operations across conference rooms, events, and global collaboration platforms.

You will also oversee AV project life cycles, manage budgets and vendors, optimize processes, and deliver high-quality AV experiences for Klaviyos worldwide.

This role requires strong leadership, advanced AV technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
How You'll Have an Impact

• Manage the collaboration technology ticket queue and ensure timely resolution of priority issues

• Mentor junior team members and support their career growth

• Deliver real-time support for remote and onsite AV issues

• Establish team standards and monitor OKRs

• Identify recurring technical issues and automate manual processes

• Create, maintain, and improve internal documentation and knowledge articles

• Support global conference room technology and unified communication systems
What We're Looking For (Must-Have Skills)
• Principal-Level AV Engineering Expertise (5+ years)
Deep knowledge of complex AV system design, integration, and troubleshooting
• Leadership in AV Operations
Experience mentoring teams, overseeing projects, and ensuring on-time delivery
• Advanced Live Production Skills
Audio consoles, video switchers, cameras, microphones, broadcast-quality events
• Strategic Project Management
Managing full AV project life cycles, budgets, and vendor coordination
• Unified Communications & Streaming Expertise
Wirecast (or similar), Zoom, Neat, Jamboard, event optimization
• Core Technology Integration Experience
Jamf Pro, Okta, 1

Password, Google Workspace, Confluence/Jira
• Workplace Management Systems
Familiarity with Robin, Office Space, Envoy or similar tools
• Excellent Communication & Mentorship
Ability to explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders
• Innovation Mindset
Proactively evaluating and implementing new AV technologies
• Advanced Networking for AV
Network troubleshooting and configuration for AV systems
• On-Site Leadership & Flexibility
On-site in Boston 4 days/week + after-hours/on-call support

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and support event setups
• Travel Required
Up to 10% for major events or remote installs

• Scripting or programming language experience
