Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect, Database, Data & AI GTM

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, addressing advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges requiring expert-level knowledge to solve. They craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges, guiding customers as they refactor applications or design entirely new cloud-based systems.

• Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge to domain‑aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges.
• Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public speaking events such as AWS Summit and AWS re:
  
  Invent.
• Partner with Business Development teams to define technical components of best‑in‑class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
• Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
• Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures.
• Foster technical trusted‑advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers to further the adoption of AWS services and technologies.
• Capture and share best‑practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.

• 7+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related field, or 7+ years of IT experience.
• Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, storage, network, security, database administration and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross‑functional teams across geographies and business units.
• 5+ years design and implementation experience with graph databases such as Neo4J or Tiger Graph, including graph data modeling and query languages.
• Understanding of computing deployment models as they relate to databases and analytics.
• Working knowledge of modern software development practices such as agile methodologies and Dev Ops.

• Strong presentation and white‑boarding skills, comfortable speaking with executives, IT management, and developers.
• AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect or a similar cloud certification.
• History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large‑scale customers or enterprises.
• Hands‑on experience with database‑related services such as Amazon Aurora, Lambda, Amazon Neptune, Amazon Open Search, Amazon Dynamo
  
  DB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2 Container Service, Amazon Kinesis, etc.
