Business Analyst – Investment Technology The Role

This role sits within an investment technology group supporting a trading-focused business area covering commodities and derivatives.

You’ll act as the bridge between engineering teams and front‑office stakeholders, helping translate real business needs into clear, buildable technology requirements. The work is hands‑on and delivery‑focused — understanding workflows, shaping solutions, and supporting systems that are used day to day.

This is a strong fit for someone with asset‑management experience who enjoys working close to trading, risk, and operations while staying embedded in technology delivery.

• Act as the link between business users and engineering teams
• Gather, analyze, and document requirements with a clear focus on value
• Translate business needs into structured, engineering‑ready documentation
• Support agile delivery through ticket writing, backlog grooming, and testing
• Understand and improve trading and risk‑related workflows
• Assist with system testing, releases, and production support
• Investigate issues and support incident resolution
• Create and maintain clear system and process documentation

• Strong experience working in investment management and technology environments
• Good understanding of trading, portfolio management, operations, or compliance
• Familiarity with derivatives and related data sets
• Ability to analyze data and work comfortably with SQL
• Experience working closely with engineers in agile delivery teams
• Clear communicator who can explain complex topics to different audiences
• Detail‑oriented, curious, and comfortable asking the right questions

• Degree in finance, technology, engineering, or a related field
• Several years of relevant experience in asset management or financial technology roles
• Familiarity with common delivery and collaboration tools

Ability to read code or prototype analytics (Python, R, Java) is a plus, but not required.
