NET Application Developer / Production Support EngineerLocation:
Hybrid, Boston, MA
The .NET Application Developer / Production Support Engineer is responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancement, integration, and production support of enterprise business applications. This role involves application development, troubleshooting production issues, supporting system integrations, and ensuring application stability and performance across the enterprise environment.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues in production and non-production environments.
- Escalate complex issues to Infrastructure, Database, Network, Security, or Vendor support teams as required.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotations and respond to critical production incidents.
- Monitor application performance, batch jobs, scheduled processes, and system health.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement preventive solutions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and related technologies.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
- Create, optimize, and support SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and queries.
- Support application integrations with internal and external systems.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions using Tableau, Crystal Reports, SSRS, or similar tools.
- Manage application deployments, release promotions, environment configurations, and database refresh activities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, QA teams, and project teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Utilize Git/Git Hub for source control, code reviews, branching, and release management.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, support procedures, and architecture diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security, change management, and operational standards.
- Ability to participate in on-call support and provide after-hours production support when required.
- Ability to work during planned maintenance windows, system upgrades, and emergency situations.
- Available to work flexible schedules based on business and operational requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum Experience And Required Skills- 5+ years of experience in application development and production support.
- Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core/.NET 6+, and ASP.NET.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production applications.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database design, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing and supporting REST APIs and SOAP services.
- Experience with Git, Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops, or similar version control tools.
- Experience with incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with application monitoring and logging tools.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies and Agile development practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
- Experience with Power Shell or Python scripting.
- Experience with Tableau, Crystal Reports, SSRS, or Power BI.
- Experience with enterprise application integrations and middleware technologies.
- Experience with Service Now, Jira, or other ITSM platforms.
- Experience supporting high-availability enterprise applications in a 24x7 environment.
